Eda ColbertHead of Global Brand and Marketing, British Council

    Eda Colbert is the Global Head of Brand and Marketing for the British Council and is currently focussing on brand and corporate identity which is high up on the Organisation’s strategic agenda.

    Since appointed in 2009, Eda has worked tirelessly in her role to demonstrate the value of marketing capability as a core function in the organisation, which has offices in 110 countries around the world.

    She has over 25 years marketing experience in wide and varied organisations including manufacturing, retail, and working with the Industrial Development Authority in her native Ireland. Since moving to the UK, Eda has continued her career in consultancy and corporate marketing.

    Eda has also been a Senior Lecturer in Marketing at Bath Spa University where her research interest included enterprise development in developing countries where the dependencies were on non-diverse agro based economies.

    Prior to joining the British Council Eda was with Accenture, where she spent eight years culminating as European Marketing Director for Retail and Consumer Goods and has also served as a trustee of a charity, a Faculty board member and is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing.
